Vivacious Vegan was taken

I am a new vegan. Well, really I'm a lazy vegetarian who has only now made the transition to veganism that she has been planning for over a year. But this time, it's permanent. No more cheese, no more milk, no more eggs. And frankly, I'm well rid of them. I guess after 12 years of saying, "No, vegetarianism is very healthy, thank you," I'm ready to take the final plunge. I don't miss eggs or beef or milk. Cheese will be missed, but not enough to make it worth it.

So I've decided to start a blog (special snowflake!) because I figure if I'm responsible to someone -- even virtual space people living in my computer -- then I'll be more adventurous with my choices and stay true to the path I've chosen. This is particularly hard considering I've been on a horrible, horrible diet for the past seven days. I won't tell you which one, but it's made me sick of lemons. I'm doing the diet because I want a fresh start at eating healthy (and a few pounds shed off couldn't hurt; I've already lost 8 lbs!). But in three days, a whole new culinary adventure begins. One that will last a lifetime.

So here's a picture of me on my birthday three years ago petting a cheeky parrot that I coaxed into kissing me...right before he tried to bite me.
